The Choir of St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, made their biennial visit to Eton College on Thursday to sing a joint evensong. Our boys were made to feel most welcome and loved seeing the old school room before the service. The ancient desks with ink wells are carved with the names of Etonians from years gone by and the Master’s desk tells a story of an educational era in which boys were seen and not heard! The joint choirs sang beautifully and with a choir of around 60 voices, the sound was impressive. A particular highlight was the anthem ‘Give unto the Lord’ by Edward Elgar which was the perfect showcase for a choir of such huge musical experience.
