St George’s has become the first co-ed prep school in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead to feature in The Good Schools Guide.
Offering a comprehensive insight into life at the school for children aged 3-13, the review was compiled following an in-depth visit by a member of The Good Schools Guide team, including interviews with staff and students and a tour of the site, located at the foot of Windsor Castle. It also draws on anonymised parent feedback from across The Good Schools Guide network.
Summarising their findings about St George’s, The Good Schools Guide concludes that, “families who want a liberal, outward-looking education delivered by bright-eyed teachers in a small and nurturing urban haven (plus castle) may find their child’s happy ever after here.”
Selecting their schools on merit alone, The Good Schools Guide pride themselves on complete impartiality and offering candid advice to parents across the UK and beyond.
“I am delighted that St George’s has been included in The Good Schools Guide,” commented William Goldsmith, head at St George’s School Windsor Castle. “I feel they have captured the school, our philosophy and mission, as well as our intent and desire to do things differently very well.”
The positive endorsement from The Good Schools Guide echoes that of other independent school reviews, with Tatler describing St George’s in their 2023 Schools Guide as a school which “seamlessly blends the modern with the traditional” and Muddy Stilettos noting that “St George’s is leading the charge in educational reform as the UK’s first IB prep.”
