St George’s to host Wellbeing Tipi at Royal Windsor Flower Show

Royal Windsor Flower Show returns to Windsor Great Park on Saturday 8 June for its popular annual celebration of gardening, nature, cookery and crafts. With exactly one month to go, we are very excited to share that we will be there too – hosting our very own Wellbeing Tipi!

Bringing mindful crafts, music and movement to children throughout the day, the Tipi will also play host to a mini sandpit where families will be able to recreate Windsor Castle, as well as a cosy corner for relaxing, reading or engaging in mindful colouring.

Spaces can be reserved in advance to attend any of seven fun-filled workshops led by members of the St George’s teaching and learning faculty, including drumming, beading, quilling and more. Mirroring our school wellbeing programme, sessions will start with a Brain Break or mindful stretching before moving into the main activity.

With something for all ages, and workshops free to attend (for families already visiting the Royal Windsor Flower Show), we are looking forward to a fun-filled day.  We will also be giving away flower-themed beading kits to the first 100 children who stop by the tipi, in partnership with sustainable craft company, Cotton Twist.

St George’s Courage Cup

In addition to hosting children’s activities at the event, through the St George’s Courage Cup, a brand new competition class for 2024, we encourage as many children as possible to try their hand at a new skill. The Cup will be awarded to Best in Show from any of the event’s 34 Children’s Classes, ranging from fun gardening activities such as creating a vegetable character, to cooking traditional summer staples like jam tarts, and arts and crafts projects with a focus on pollinators. The age categories allow for those right from their youngest years upwards to take part (6 and under, 7 – 11, 12-16 years) and all entries are proudly displayed at the event. The St George’s Courage Cup winner also receives £5 prize money.
