Year 1 have been looking at the history of transport this term and on Wednesday they visited Bekonscot, the world’s oldest model village, to help them with the topic. There were hundreds of trains, boats and planes for the children to see, including a huge model railway, but they particularly enjoyed riding on the Bekonscot Light Railway, a narrow gauge ride-on miniature railway which weaved its way behind the village, across gardens, around a pond and back to the terminus.
