Impressively dressed for the occasion, Year 3 enjoyed a host of activities and workshops which helped them to understand what life was like in Ancient Egypt. In the morning they wrote hierolyphics with charcoal on papyrus, made canopic jars out of clay and soap carvings, mashed up olives for oil lamps and made bread by grinding seeds and mixing with flour and water. In the afternoon they danced the dance of the River Nile with looping and swirling ribbons and acted out the story of “The Wax Crocodile”. This was followed by a banquet with real goblets! Several glamorous mummies came in to help with all of the activities!
